The walk to the ‘Giant’s Grave’ (which can be seen from the pub car park) starts and finishes at this lovely wayside Inn. When we walked it we made arrangements with the hostelry staff to park in their car park and for twelve of us to eat there afterwards. The food was good and they also serve real ales.
The ‘Giant’s Grave’ is a long barrow upon Martinsell Hill. Local folklore states that if you run around the long barrow seven times you will wake the giant from his slumbers!
