Further Pub Details
Tim and Ali welcome you to the friendliest family pub in South Oxfordshire. Low beamed ceilings, character fireplaces, nooks & crannies and a true Oxfordshire welcome await you here at this family run Freehouse.
Originally a quiet 15th century coaching inn, Tim and Ali have transformed this idyllic pub into a fun and 'happening' place. You can be sure of a friendly and fun visit whether you wish to eat or just relax with a drink or two. You will find the young and the old mixing together in an atmosphere that will encourage you to return.
Our menu is made of FRESH ingredients so what you see will vary according to the day of the week you come in. For example, our fish is delivered from Cornwall on Friday so if you want a selection of good fish dishes, please book a table for Friday or Saturday.
Our beer is kept well and we always have four guest ales on tap. The Bear at Home was voted CAMRA Pub of the Year 2007 for the whole of Oxfordshire and we have a regular entry in the CAMRA good beer guide of which we are justly proud, and we even have our own “Bear Beer”, brewed by West Berks Brewery. Visit our Beer & Cricket Festival at the end of July for a really good time. We aim to provide sustenance to all our customers, whether you drink fine wine, good port, continental lagers or real ale.
We look forward to seeing you soon !
