WALK 1 A walk of up to 5.8 miles around the twin masts on Halkyn Mountain. If you have found that you have taken perhaps too much time on Moel-y-Gaer enjoying the views, just head back to the twin masts to return to the Blue Bell Inn.

This walk is around Halkyn Mountain, a 1,000 hectare common that has been mined for lead and quarried for stone for over 2,000 years. Halkyn Mountain is about 300m years old and was formed by being squashed between two ice sheets. It has been occupied since Neolithic times and supports a variety of wildlife habitats.
We are an independent, family run and award winning freehouse enjoyed by walkers, riders, cyclists, folk & jazz musicians, game players and locals alike. At 850 feet we are near the top of Halkyn Mountain with spectacular 70 mile views over the Dee & Mersey rivers to the distant Cumbrian mountains & Pennine hills. Real fires in winter add to the warm welcome.
We’ve had hundreds of different cask ales to date and our own locally brewed and Welsh Blue Bell Bitter (abv 3.5%) is always on along with other regularly changing real ales & ciders. From our own October apple pressing we have made our own Rosie's Blue Bell Cider!
Our food is a mixture of locally sourced, homemade and traditional meals ranging from lighter bites to those that challenge the hungry.

WALK 3 This circular walk takes in a diverse range of habitat right across Halkyn Mountain, heading to the Hill Fort, past a Lime Kiln and Windmill and back to the award-winning Blue Bell Inn.
