The Dukes Head is a traditional village pub in The Good Pub Guide with heaps of character - oak beams, low ceilings, solid oak bar, inglenook fireplace. Some elements of the menu may be a bit pricey but hungry walkers could try their 10" baguettes served with salad, tortilla chips and a small cup of soup, all for £7.
