15 February 2008 - Each year the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) organises a week-long celebration of the British Pub with hundreds of pubs participating by running special events to encourage new and regular customers through their doors.

CAMRA also launch the week with the announcement of the winner of their National Pub of the Year title.

This is the second year of Community Pubs Week since CAMRA rebranded National Pubs Week to highlight the important role played by pubs in their communities. The campaigning group want us all to use our locals and help keep them open, stressing that 56 pubs close for good each month and early indications of new research suggest that the figure could now be significantly higher.
